Ear Candle
|
Here is a solution to all those sufferers of head colds, sinus pressure, vertigo,
excess earwax, ear infections, ear pressure troubles and water on the ear. Sounds
strange? To anyone who has never heard of them before, it's natural reaction. But
really they are very simple to use, gentle and very effective.
The value of ear candles
Ear candling is a gentle way to remove: excess ear wax, debris from past and
current infections, fluid in the ear canal (especially in people who swim or
surf a lot) and ear infection and sinus pain caused by blockages which bring about
excess pressure. It does this by circulating warm air in the air canal and gently
drawing it out and up the hollow candle. It is an effective treatment gentle
enough for use on children and those with painful ear infections. It is also
very useful for hearing aid wearers, swimmers, divers and surfers. Ear candling
is also great to do before flying as it clears the tubes (which will prevent
pain from the increased air pressure on take off and landing).

How to use
|
One end of the ear candle is lit and the tapered end is place inside (or snuggly
fitted to the outside of) the ear canal. The ear trapped in the ear candle warms
up and circulates in the ear canal drying out all the excess ear wax, infection
and water in the ear. Due to mild vacuum created by the flame, it is then drawn
out of the ear and up into the ear candle.
Still sounds strange and scary? Anyone who has used them will tell you it really
is not strange, scary or difficult to use. Like anything, once you have used them
and seen amazing amount of excess ear wax that is gentle drawn out, you will see
for yourself the simple effectiveness of ear candling.
Benefits range wide
Hearing aid wearers have great results from ear candling. The ear wax can't get
built up behind the hearing aids. Therefore they may need two ear candlings at
first to draw out the built up ear wax. After the initial treatment, regular ear
candling every two to four weeks makes a great difference to their hearing by
enabling the hearing aid to work to its maximum potential. This would of course
apply to elderly as well although if they do not wear hearing aids they may not
need to do ear candling as frequently.
Swimmers and surfers have the problem of water left on the ear. Sometimes this
can be happen after syringing the ear as well. Ear candles circulate warm air in
the ear canals so of course this would dry out the water and draw up the evaporation
into the ear candle. Divers and those about to fly can have problems of pressure
build up in the ear canal caused by excess ear wax. These can be relieved by ear
candling.
Ears candles can be used at anytime to remove excess ear wax. Often we don't even
know that we have excess ear wax until we find a large amount came out after ear
candling! Ear candles can be used to relieve the pain of an ear infection, and
after the infection is cleared, to draw out remaining infection debris.
Ear candling can be done as often as you like. If you are still getting lots of
ear wax/infection out of the ear at the end of an ear candling, you can use more
ear candles straight away. Everyone is different, so the frequency of ear candling
is really up to you.
Ear candling is gentle enough to use on children and hearing aid wearers.
Because children have difficulty lying still, we recommend a favorite video, book
or gameboy be used to entertain them. We also suggest a quick "wriggle time" is
introduced throughout the ear candling to release that youthful energy
